Hip Hop Sales For 2010

Hiphopdx put together this nifty chart of how well (or how crappy) hip hop sales we’re in 2010. What’s funny to note is that both Eminem and Drake had the highest selling hip hop albums despite even having a platinum selling single (and it looks like Kanye’s going to continue this trend). I’m pretty sure in other genres of music the highest selling singles and highest selling albums go hand in hand.

Platinum Hip Hop Albums

  1. Eminem “Recovery” 3.21 million units sold
  2. Drake “Thank Me Now” 1.25 million units sold

  • B.o.B. “The Adventures of Bobby Ray”
  • Lil Wayne “I Am Not A Human Being”
  • Lil Wayne “Rebirth”
  • Ludacris “Battle of the Sexes”
  • Kanye West “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”
  • Nicki Minaj “Pink Friday”
  • Rick Ross “Teflon Don”
