A Typical White Person

If your on your p’s and q’s (what does that mean anyway?) as I’m sure most of yall are, you’ve heard Barack Obama’s “Perfect Union” Speech in which he gave one of the greatest speeches on race in America since Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech. In that speech he talked about how his grandmother, who is white, would make stereotypical remarks and was afraid if she was walking down the street and a black man was walking passed her. Barack’s speech was so good, it pretty much cleared up the whole Jeremiah Wright video, which new evidence suggests was doctored by Fox News and taken completely out of context.

In a follow up, radio interview Barack Obama was asked to elaborate on his comments about his grandmother, which has raised the issue again. Here is what he said,

“The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity -she doesn’t. But she is a typical white person who…if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know, there’s a reaction in her that’s been bred into our experiences that don’t go away, and that sometimes come out in the wrong way.” Full audio source

Now the phrase “typical white person” has got a lot of people upset (read: Clinton supporters, racists, and Fox News) as we normally use the word “typical” with a negative connotation. But the thing is Barack meant that his grandmother, who grew up in the 30’s (very racists times for all the kids reading this), would be afraid if she saw a black person walking toward her as a typical white woman would be back in those days. I admit, the way he said it, was really bad, it was as if Barack had a “George Bush” moment.

But the fact of the matter is what Barack Obama said is 100% true. White people back in those times would be scared to death if a group of black males were walking in their direction and I would even argue that today, the majority of white people would have the “fight or flight” response if a young black male looking like a DMX clone was walking toward them. Shoot, I’m looking for the nearest exit if a big black guy is walking toward me (That reminds me, tell Rico, I’ll have your money). Don’t believe me?

Look at how “white people” (read: Clinton supporters, racists, and Fox News) reacted to the Jeremiah Wright video. They were over the top outraged. This tells me that these “white people” (read: Clinton supporters, racists, and Fox News) do NOT have any black friends, they don’t live around black people, and they live in a world where they only see black people on TV (and that’s usually on Cops). These “outsider white people” are the real problem with America today and it’s not only them. Black people, Asian people, Jew people, whatever people, all like to hang out with the same kind of “race” and “religion” as each other. Everyone who has friends of only one race is to blame as they are not getting enough of the social interactions that will help us get over this petty issue of racism. This is because they are not fostering an enviroment where they can begin to UNDERSTAND each other. If you want to hang out with people with the same race and religion as you go back to your motherland, I say, and this means you too whitey.

Another thing I want to add is that Barack is half-white, so I think he has a pass to say whatever he wants about white people. And oh yeah, here’s the kicker, white people are not supposed to get mad. It’s kinda of like how black people can call each other “nigga”, how Asians can make fun of themselves for being so nerdy, and how rednecks can make redneck jokes. “You know your a redneck when your wife is your sister”. “Hahahhahah, hey that’s funny Wilbur”.

Some people (read: Clinton supporters, racists, and Fox News) are trying to type-case Barack as the “black candidate” when he is clearly not. This guy is the whitest guy ever, except he can dance. I think what has caused this problem is the way the media has been branding Barack Obama as the first African-American president, which is also totally inaccurate as Barack’s dad is from Kenya and not an African-American in the sense that his ancestors were brought to the US as slaves. There’s also another small thing, Barack is also HALF-WHITE. Now Barack hasn’t obviously fought against this because it has had the positive effect of securing the “black vote”, however, it has had the negative effect of making some really dumb white people (read: Clinton supporters, racists, and Fox News) believe Barack is the second coming of Malcolm X, which is a gross exaggeration of the truth. It’s sort of like saying, George W. Bush is a genius.

And if Obama meant “atypical”? huh?
