10 Rap Collab Albums We Could Have Done Without

Oh rap collab albums, the product of artists looking to get double the promotion while only having to do half the work. Considering we’ve just lived through one of the biggest-oh-my-god-rap-collab-albums-of-all-time, Watch the Throne, we thought it would be fun to speak on some of the worst past and upcoming collab albums.

10. Eminem & Royce Da 5’9″ – Bad Meets Evil
An album that’s been 20 years in the making, which should have never been made to begin with. One listen to “Lighters” should tell you why.

9. Birdman & Lil Wayne – Like Father Like Son
Made to cash in on Lil Wayne’s fame in 2006, this collab album destroyed fast forward buttons as Birdman’s verses we’re nothing but mindless dribble.

8. Joe Budden, Joel Ortiz, Royce Da 5’9″, Crooked I – Slaughterer House
I’m not sure why anyone would think it’d a be a good idea to bring together all the major label rejects and have them make an album together. That’s like bringing together all the lowest rated TV shows and making one big TV show out of them.

7. Jay-Z & R. Kelly – The Best of Both Worlds
While this album was released to much fanfare, it was bogged down by infighting and oh yeah Jay-Z’s “friend” pepper spraying R. Kelly -which is incidentally amazing.

6. Jay-Z & R. Kelly – Unfinished Business
I’m not sure if I ever even heard this, but this collab album should have been a business that never opened.

5. Rick Ross & Diddy – Bugatti Boyz
This album isn’t even released because it’s so bad (and we mean “bad” as in garbage). When it was announced in late 2010 that Officer Ricky and Puffy we’re doing a collab album and we’re calling it “Bugatti Boyz”, I was saddened because I think “The Great Pretenders” would have been a better choice.

4. Birdman & Rick Ross – The H
Great all we need now is a Diddy and Birdman collab album and my life can end peacefully.

3. Soulja Boy & Lil B – Pretty Boy Millionaires
The sheer thought of these two rap gods in the same room, let alone making a mixtape together, could tear a hole in the space time continuum. Fortunately for us, no one cared.

2. Waka Flocka Flame & Gucci Mane – Ferrari Boyz
This album likely came about after Ross & Diddy announced they we’re making the Bugatti Boyz and Gucci yelled at Waka “Aye we finna be the Ferrari Boyz!” to which Waka responded “Bow, bow, bow!”.

1. Bow Wow & Omarion – Face Off
I was only reminded of this album when I saw it at the bottom of a dirty bargain bin at the flea market. Need I say more?
