R Kelly Ruined My Life

R Kelly hasn’t only ruined little girl’s lives but he has also been known to baller block fellow R&B singers as well (See: Ne-Yo). Now singer Joe, probably best known for his song, “Don’t Wanna Be a Player”, is claiming the Pied Piper did him dirty too.
Joe who has released a total of 6 albums spanning 11 years on record label Jive believes that R Kelly would call Jive execs as well as radio stations advising them not to play Joe’s records too much. Joe says,
R. Kelly was very instrumental in making a lot of decisions when it came to my records being played on the radio. He would make a call to the radio station or to the label and say, ‘Hey, this Joe record is too hot right now. Y’all need to pull that back.’ And they would oblige. It’s incredible that now I get the opportunity to, I don’t know, maybe pay (R. Kelly) back in some sort of side bar kind of thing.
Joe, who has recently left Jive due to constant push backs of his 2007 album, Ain’t Nothin Like Me, believes he still succeeded despite R Kelly’s intervening. He says,
I’m still very relevant in the game. But yeah, he did try to make some decisions when it came down to my records being on fire, and climbing up the charts and on the radio stations. He felt like they should pull back because he felt he was more important. And with their loyalty to him, they obliged.
Song for song, I’ve always been a Joe fan and not too much into R Kelly, dude seemed too much of a weirdo back then. If this is true, which it probably is, considering R Kelly boned a 14 year old, R Kelly has serious issues to be calling radio stations and telling them not to play another artist’s records. It screams of desperation and insecurity. I can see 50 Cent doing something like this.

That is really pathetic. For someone whom has been
out for over a decade in the Music business, I would
have expected a lot more from R. Kelly. Attempting to
push back, & prevent another talented Singer from
having the same success as he did, is really low. And
those whom listened to R. Kelly’s demands of
preventing Joe’s songs from being played are fools
too. He had no right to intervene the way he did, &
it does show clear signs of insecurity, feeling that
Joe may have ended up surpassing him with his previous
effort.
I like both of these Artists, but what R. Kelly did
was uncalled for.

Right from my first day into music, I’m always a fan of Joe, because almost all his songs reminds me of my pass. All my friends and pals no me as that, and I’ve inspired others to like his music, Neyo and Tyrese Gibson are another stars I admire. No one can block ears to their music. GOOD LUCK to Joe and the others I’ve mentioned.
