John McCain never gave up any intelligence or "secrets" as u say; and while he did make an anti-American statement for propaganda purposes, it probably had something to do with the fact that several of his bones were broken (none of which he received any proper treatment for), he was beat half to death by Vietnamese rogues and was put thru hours of cruel and unusual torture. Not to mention he has always had remorse about the statement ever since. I would only imagine that things senator McCain witnessed while in Vietnam are nothing the likes of you have ever experienced thus far in your life, and probably never will. I think it's asinine that you would even have the nerve to question the fact whether or not this man is a war hero; all soldiers are heroes. So not only does John McCain know first-hand the pain of war, but he also understands the mistakes of war as well. John McCain cares about the country, obviously, he was willing to put his life on the line for it; and that's a pretty decent way of showing it to say the least. Saying John McCain knowing how to win a war is like a chess piece knowing how to win a chess game doesn't ring nearly as true as the thought that supporting McCain is kind of like wearing a seat belt, it's just not "cool" to do the right thing.
