Jay Sean Signs to Cash Money Records

It looks like Cash Money is keeping their promise of expanding their roaster to include non-hip hop acts as they have recently signed British R&B artist Jay Sean to their label. Jay Sean, who has been fairly popular in the U.K scene as well as the urban desi scene, made the announcement at the MOBO Awards (Music of Black Origin Awards) in the U.K.

Jay Sean also noted that he has been in the studio with Lil Wayne working on new material and seemed visibly exited.

Cash Money’s CEO Monte Lipman recently made it known that he wanted the label to not only focus on hip hop but all different genres of music including soul, rock and pop. This follows their recent signing off rock/pop act Kevin Rudolf.
