Hot 97’s Mc/Dj Rosenberg gives some good advice to upcoming rappers on how to get him to play your music on air.
Since I’m a host of college radio show and get rappers hitting me up all the time. I think the best advice is to get some kind of buzz going with your music first. Shoot a video. Do some shows. If I usually see someone working hard and there music is good, I’ll give it a shot. What I hate is “bedroom” rappers who never did even a talent show, send me there music that sounds like it was recorded in a garbage can talking about “how they counting stacks” and “pushing weight”.
