The self-proclaimed “Godfather of Canadian Rap” Belly has responded to a local Toronto rapper named Kama and his anti-Belly movement, entitled “The Smelly Movement” or “The Bowel Movement” (no one is quite sure). In addition to serving Belly one of the weakest diss tracks in recorded rap history, in which Kama childishly calls Belly “smelly”, Kama also took out advertising on a public transit bus. The advertisement shows an image of Belly photoshop’d to be “beaten up” and “smelling” ran across the side of the bus during the week coinciding with Toronto’s Caribanna festival.

The conflict was escalated when Kama and his crew showed up at Belly’s album release party in which an ensuing scuffle broke out. During the fight, Kama’s chain was snatched of his neck by a member of Belly’s entourage. A few days later, Kama appeared on a local college radio station to premier his Belly diss as well as speak to a caller who claimed to be the “chain snatcher”. Kama alleges that the caller really wasn’t the one who took his chain.

Belly has responded by turning the whole “Smelly” movement on its head in a very witty way with a whole lotta swag.

    Maybe that Kama did come wack… but Belly never IS never WAS and never WILL be the godfather of Canadian rap… and that fraud shows how much of an ass clown he truly is when he lays claim to that title… obviously he’s never REALLY been a true part of the Canadian hip-hop scene when he overlooks cats like Maestro Fresh Wes, Ghetto Concept, Choclair, Saukrates, Kardinall Offishall, K-os, K-naan, Swollen Members just to name a FEW of the MANY better artists than him… MUCH better than him… big deal; he BOUGHT his fame and EVERYBODY knows that… he’s about as legit an artist as the Spice girls… he’s pre-packaged commercial trash and NOWHERE NEAR real hip-hop or even real in general… Maybe Kama’s attempt on him was weak, but I personally know quite a few cats that would end him once and for all if he ever found the nuts to go to lyrical war w/ them; Emotionz, Snak the ripper, Young Sin, Kava-1, Ishkan, Curtis C and that’s just in B.C… and if this site’s contributors want to support his bullshit; then you know him personally OR you don’t know shit about REAL music and you’re as fake as his tough-guy on the outside, wanna-be on the inside image… nuff said… anybody who knows about hip-hop beyond what Much Music broadcasts knows it. I dare him to step to ANY of the artists mentioned in this post; GUARENTEE you he wouldn’t… cause even HE knows he’s fake as fuck.

    shut up anonymous and every other Belly-hater. u all don’t know talent and real-ness. Belly is the best and if he wants to call himself Canada’s Godfather , let him. He’s been getting great reviews and interviews where ppl are telling him it’s their “honour” to meet him. So please shut up and leave the man alone. Belly, i’ll be true to you always and i’m waiting on you.

    that hoe is on his nuts HARD! he sucks and you’re not his only hoe either. he’s wack as fuck and gives a bad name to all the REAL M.C.’s from this country. he gives less of a shit about you than we do about his music and IF he was as real as he fronts like he is people wouldn’t hate on him; but he’s a toy rapper livin’ the dream that most M.C’s hustle for off of daddy’s money. you both suck

    Whats the matter haters… i dont know bout you foo’s but i smell maddddd jealousy coming from 2 out of 3 people on this post. What you can’t make it anywhere with your pathetic existance for a life so you gotta hate anyone who is trying to do anything with their life. Lets be “realistic” and not hide behind your “hard frontn” n all that bull shit… This guy has a dope product and backed up by the Snoop D o double g’s.

    So if your are working at a corner store.. stackin shelves at a grocery store.. or still livin’ in your mothers basement then yea.. it woudl be understandable that you are hatin’ … you can’t get laid because what woman in their own mind would go home with you “to your mothers basement” .. HAHA.. that’s the pure reality of this situation.. is pure jealousy..

    who cares who knows what about who.. you step up to Belly.. you’re definitly gonna get smacked capped and rolled into a river because the only problem with the world today is people spend so much time hating other people, they don’t concentrate on their own lifes and then in turn their own lives are wasted spending their own time worrying and hating other people.. this to me is a pure joke.. and get this. im a metal head.. yeah i listen to all the RA RA RA rape your dog metal stuff but i love following you low life non intelligent non high school diploma mother fuckers when it comes down to it.
