Okay so it’s February, and this post should have been done in December, but when has hip hop ever been early for anything? Anyway, here is our list of 10 things that will shake up the rap world in 2008. Hopefully, in 2009 we can brag about some of these coming true, even if it’s just one thing. Read more »
Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige will tour from March 22 to April 26, in what will be one of the biggest urban music bills since the Jay-Z/50 Cent tour in 2003. The tour will be called the “Heart of the City” tour rehashing the song title “Heart of the City” from Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint”. The emphasis of “Heart” comes from the addition of Mary J Blige into the equation. This tour is already sold out in most places and tickets are going fast.
Personally, I can’t wait to see this, I bought tickets on the first day it came out. I saw Hov in 2003 and he is crazy live. I suspect this will be his last big tour ever, so it’s a must see for any Jigga fan.
Tickets go on sale Feb. 15, here is the updated list of tour dates (click on a venue to purchase tickets to the Jay-Z and Mary J Blige Concert):
*Please be advised tickets are going fast and that we cannot guarantee tickets for all venues will be available closer to the event date*
I just love these Ja Rule interviews, this man comes up with the most delusional shit. Even if what he’s saying is 100% true, he still comes of sounding like he’s rocking a tin foil cap.
Ringtones have been around for a few years now and likely hit their climax last year, but for the foreseeable future it appears ringtones won’t die. The funny thing about the ringtone industry, aside from hip hop ringtones being the biggest sellers, is that ringtones are damn expensive, but prices have come down. Read more »

50 Cent performed at Paris Hilton’s pre-Super Bowl party for 944 magazne last night. During the performance 50 Cent gave Paris Hilton a shout out and Paris took that as a secret call to get her azz on the stage. When Paris tried to get on stage to dance with 50 he quickly and politely told her to “GET THE F*CK OFF THE STAGE!”
Good. Fifty’s best move in a while.
BTW, Paris started crying after Fifty told her where to go.
“I was paying for radio everywhere. Once the song caught, other stations and everything started picking up, and that’s when the label- they seen the BDS spins start going up- thats when they stepped in and put they radio folks on it. And now it’s crazy.”
Complex Magazine: As a Puerto Rican rapper, have you ever been criticized for using the N Word?
No absolutely not. Because blacks and Latinos anywhere you go in any hood, any ghetto, we’re right beside each other, and with each other all the time especially in New York City. They’ve been calling me “that nigga” my whole life. I go to Africa, and the Africans say “what’s up Fat Joe my nigga-ah?” So they don’t have a problem with it. It’s a term of endearment.
